Echo Frames are Amazon’s answer to smart glasses with a handy twist - they are Alexa enabled! This means you can interact with the Alexa virtual assistant any time throughout your day, even if you’re not at home.

Do I need glasses to wear them?

No! You don’t need to use prescription glasses to be able to use Echo Frames - these glasses come with plastic frames by default, but can be customised with prescription frames after purchase.

How do you set them up?

You only need a smartphone to get started with your Echo Frames. Simply download the Alexa app and turn on Bluetooth, and you’ll be able to pair and control your Echo Frames from there.

How does it work?

The Echo Frames utilise open-ear audio to direct sound to your ears from the frame of your glasses, whilst minimising what others around you can hear. They also feature environmental noise balancing, meaning that they can listen to the sound around you and adjust your audio accordingly.

You can interact with Alexa completely hands-free or through the app, meaning you can listen to music, take calls and surf the web all using your glasses!

How long does the battery last?

The Echo Frames feature 2 hours of talk time, Alexa interactions and media playback over a 14-hour day, or up to 4 hours of non-stop listening from full charge.

How do you activate Alexa?

A simple double-tap of the stems of your glasses will activate the Alexa assistant.

Can they receive notifications?

Yes - using the VIP Filter lets you select the notifications you want to hear from any app on your phone. Alexa will alert you when a new notification comes in, and you can swipe the temple to listen to it.

Amazon is always pushing the boundaries of where their Alexa technology will go next, and wearables seems like a very logical step. However, whether these will take the market by storm is a different question! Would you buy a pair of Amazon Alexa glasses?
