Key features of the Samsung Galaxy Fold6 and Flip6
The Flip and Fold now feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, announced in late 2023, making it the fastest processor used in the series thus far. This upgrade enhances the speed and multitasking capabilities of the phones. Additionally, both devices now support 12GB of RAM, an improvement from the previous 8GB, enabling faster software performance and reducing the time required to power the devices on or off. They also boast an IP48 protection rating, an upgrade from IPX8, meaning they are more resistant to damage and infiltration from physical objects larger than 1mm, such as sand grains, while maintaining their water resistance. The Fold, in particular, has seen a significant improvement with an increased vapor chamber size, a feature it previously lacked, which helps keep the device cool during intensive tasks like gaming. Moreover, both devices now include a 12MP ultrawide camera lens, enhancing the depth of captured photos and performing well in low-light conditions.

- Circle to search
- Note assist
- Chat assist
- Browsing assist

- Gemini AI assistant
New Galaxy AI Features
- Interpreter mode: this AI translation software is already present in Samsung devices as part of the existing Galaxy AI suite. However, the Flip and Fold also display text on their exterior screens. This means that the person holding the phone and the person being talked to have a screen facing them during use, displaying the live translation content.
- Sketch to Image: this is a new AI feature, announced at the same time as the Flip6 and Fold6. Users can draw images on their device, including directly onto photos captured by the camera, and these drawings are then intelligently recognized and improved with AI software. For example, drawing a coffee cup into a photo and then activating Sketch to Image would turn your basic drawing into more fully realized art.
